We Are Hiring a B2B Content Marketing Specialist and Project Manager

B2B Content Marketing Specialist and Project Manager

Position Overview:

ZAG FIRST B2B Marketing is looking for a full-time, fully remote B2B Content Marketing Specialist and Project Manager with 5+ years of experience writing and developing B2B marketing content and managing marketing projects. The ideal candidate is passionate about writing, learns quickly, and can convey complex information via the written word. In addition, they must be incredibly organized, as everything our team does is tracked by this role.

This position will primarily support clients in the construction, manufacturing, and industrial sectors, so experience creating content for technical or B2B audiences – or a strong ability to learn industry-specific language – is essential.

About ZAG FIRST B2B Marketing

Headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, we are an 8-year-old digital marketing agency specializing in helping B2B construction, manufacturing, and distribution industry companies generate leads, nurture prospects through the sales funnel, and increase revenue. For more information, visit https://zagfirst.com/.

Our values are everything to us. We are a small team, meaning that we all wear many hats and work closely together. We have a strict “no jerk” policy for both coworkers and clients–we only want to work with people who share our commitment to progress, curiosity, respect, and results. Because life’s too short to hate what you do.

All team members are fully remote, and we provide a MacBook Air, monitor, trackpad, and keyboard. Full-time employees typically work 35-45 hours a week, but work-life balance is extremely important to us. We want you to love your work–but we also understand that work isn’t everything. If you need to pick up your kid from school in the middle of the workday, or take a walk at lunch and work a little in the evening, that’s great: we want our team to work however, whenever, and wherever they can be happy and productive.

Key Skills Needed for This Position

We are looking for someone with:

  •  A “let’s figure it out” mentality. As a small agency, every ZAG FIRST team member works on a wide variety of client projects. We’re looking for someone who is naturally curious and eager to dive in and learn new techniques, software, and best practices
  • Strong B2B content writing skills. You should be able to distill complex concepts into clear, engaging, and professional content that is both concise and effective. You will develop content for website pages, blog posts, LinkedIn posts, and more. If you are not great at writing and love it, this job is not for you. Bonus if you’ve written for manufacturing, construction, or other industrial sectors.
  • You get SEO – and how to write content that actually shows up. You know how to write content that’s optimized for search, how to naturally incorporate keywords, write for search intent, and structure content so it performs in search without sounding robotic.
  • Project management skills. This role is the glue that keeps everything together at ZAG FIRST. You’ll need to be highly organized, detail-oriented, and confident managing multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities across a variety of clients and internal team members. Bonus if you are a whiz with Asana or similar project management tools.
  • Extreme attention to detail. You catch the small stuff others miss and can quickly absorb and act on new information without losing sight of the bigger picture.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication. You’ll be a primary point of contact for several projects, so clear, confident communication—internally and externally—is a must.
  • Kindness. We care about getting the job done, but more importantly, we care about getting the job done right–with kindness, patience, and respect for both our coworkers and our clients. We’ve worked for huge agencies and Silicon Valley companies, and let’s just say there’s a reason we left to start ZAG FIRST. Don’t confuse kindness with passiveness or weakness – ever.

Primary Responsibilities of the B2B Content Marketing Specialist and Project Manager

  • Write and edit high-quality B2B marketing content for client websites, blogs, email campaigns, LinkedIn posts, and more. All website content must be optimized for SEO.
  • Serve as the project manager across multiple client accounts. This includes assigning work, tracking progress, coordinating across internal and external teams, keeping projects on track, and clients happy.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for day-to-day client communication. You’ll manage client relationships, provide updates, gather feedback, and ensure alignment between client expectations and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with our internal and external team members to ensure the organization meets deadlines and produces high-quality work that achieves results.
  • Track and manage progress using Asana, ensuring all tasks, deadlines, and communications are organized and documented.
